If your business is involved in any form of manufacturing structural steelwork products, then you should be aware of BS EN 1090-1 CE Marking. Without this certification, you cannot legally run a steel manufacturing business as all products within the scope of this standard must be CE Marked when released to the market.

This harmonised European standard covering fabricated structural steelwork came into effect on 1 July 2014. BS EN 1090-1 involves the requirements for assessing and verifying product or service conformity in executing any steel and aluminium structures details.

Precision engineering encompasses several sub-disciplines including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, electronics engineering and optical engineering. As anyone in the industry will tell you, the only way to get a job done as efficiently and accurately as possible is with modern machinery and PRV Engineering have done just that.

Successful engineering companies use a combination of expert knowledge, experience and continuous investment in machinery and staff. Custom fabrication services require all of these elements and more as quality and production costs are the top priority. Custom fabrication is a specialist process whether you’re machining steel or aluminium.

Metal fabrication, for example, involves a wide range of skills and disciplines from profiling, bending and forming, cropping, welding to assembly and finishing. While technology, machinery and computer-aided design software have led to advanced custom fabrication services, there is still no substitute for experience.

An engineering company can only be successful with high-quality custom fabrication coupled with expert knowledge, experience and continuous investment. We’re not only talking about investing in equipment but also staff training and hiring. In order to provide the quality and service excellence customers deserve, equipment and staff must be of the highest level.

There are three core factors that determine success in manufacturing and that includes production cost, quality and speed. While each component plays a crucial role, manufacturers must fully commit to all three to reach and remain within the top tier.

Let’s take a look at some of the recent fabrication projects at PRV Engineering and find out more about coded welding and finishing.

Metalwork fabrication is a broad term referring to processes involving cutting, shaping or moulding metals into a final product. It is a specialist process that requires expertly trained staff and cutting-edge machinery. Metal components are widely available in a variety of dimensions and materials including sheet metal, metal rods and metal bars.

For the most part, good metalwork fabrication shops can produce products in a wide range of shapes and sizes. Manufacturers often require a non-standard component or a unique metal product which means they need custom fabrication services. It provides them with design and production assistance for built-to-order parts.
